Birds on a Wire

I think birds must be a little Autistic. Don't take this the wrong way, and I know that there are different levels of autism and degrees of functionality, but that is not what this post is about. But it does reference a little boy my Mom used to tend that was autistic. He was very good at lining up the Barney figures on the ironing board with such precise spacing that it looked like he had used a ruler. He lined everything up like that. It was awesome.

Now, have you ever noticed the little birds on the telephone wires. Always the exact same distance apart from each other. I have even seen the birds move sideways on the wires till they obtain the middle of the other birds.

How do they know they are in the middle? Why is it so important that they be so evenly spaced? Do the other birds smell? Do they have personal space issues? It is the equivalent of having your own room?

Do you know?

I don't know, but I think you have just found your ground breaking dissertation topic for your Phd in Ornithology. Relate it to humans, publish it, and go on Oprah describing what type of birds human personalities are, make millions, and retire.

Book title - Humans on a Wire

if those two birds touch then they become electricity conducters instead of insulators, and are electricuted. maybe they just learned from their other friends getting fried but they want to still try and keep warm.

It all started with the song. Bird Bird the Bird is the word. You see. It has to be that. Birds do know the Word therefore they also know math and spacing. Being the word they also like spacing and space so they can use the word. There you go. WORD.

Not only that, they seem to have assigned places on that wire!
